Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA) and atherosclerosis obliterans(ASO) are very rare in Korea, but their occurrences are increasing in tendency in recent years. We experienced 9 cases of abdomoral recentig aortic surgery which includes repair of AAA and aorto-femoral bypass surgery for ischemic extremities. On four AAA cases, two patients underwent emergency surgery due to aneurysm rupture and two underwent elective basis for pulsating AAA. One patient had underlying chronic renal failure and died postoperatively due to multiple organ failure. Orr five aorto-femoral bypass surgery, four patients had iliac artery obstruction. Three patients had good outcome but one died of ischemic colon and the remainder had amputation. Aortic surgery is relatively difficult due to its deep location but we could achieve life and limb salvage with meticulous technique and early diagnosis.
